I'm not planning to travel until several months from now. Should I apply for my visa now? Why?

Currently there is no waiting period for a visa appointment, however we are fast approaching the busy summer season and we expect wait times to significantly increase. The months of May, June and July are especially busy due to increased tourism, summer work programs and student visa applicants. Well-organized travelers who plan their trips in advance generally appear to be better qualified. They also have the advantage of avoiding a potentially long wait for an appointment or any inconveniences that might arise from an unexpected delay in the application process.
