Entrepreneurship Workshop Opportunity

September 10, 2009

The Entrepreneurship Workshop (EW) is organized by Hungarian alumni who studied in the United States. Classes start on 5th October, 2009, and meet Monday nights. The applicants will be screened to make sure that we work with the best students and professionals. Application deadline is 21st September. The language of the workshop is English. The classes are open to both current university students and Hungarian alumni of U.S. programs.

Entrepreneurship Workshop is a 2 month seminar (8 sessions), which

  • Provides an understanding of the economic and social importance of entrepreneurship
  • Focuses on entrepreneurship as a driving force of the knowledge economy
  • Wants to inspire and qualify bright students for careers in new ventures
  • As well as bringing entrepreneurship into established organizations (Intrapreneurship)

Entrepreneurship Workshop (EW) offers an understanding of the particular challenges involved in launching a new venture or rejuvenating undermanaged mature companies. EW provides multiple opportunities to interact with entrepreneurs. In addition, participants can work on their venture idea as their main course project. EW is also useful for participants who want to understand how new business ventures are created and managed. These include participants who plan to be involved with start-ups as employees, investors, customers, consultants, or business development managers in large enterprises. For these careers, it is often useful to understand the venture creation process from the point of view of the entrepreneur.

The course attempts to reach its learning objectives by discussing real life examples, meeting entrepreneurs and business angels in class, having guests lecturing, and intensive project work.

EW is supported by the European Entrepreneurship Foundation, the Ybl Club, the Common Sense Society, IvyPlus, the Embassy of the United States of America, and the American Corner Budapest at Corvinus University.
