Ambassador Kounalakis Meets with Prime Minister Bajnai

As part of her initial orientation to Hungary, the new U.S. Ambassador Eleni Tsakopoulos Kounalakis is meeting with the country’s political leaders. After presenting her credentials to President Sólyom on January 11, she met with Foreign Minister Balázs on January 13.

On January 14, Ambassador Kounalakis paid a call on Prime Minister Bajnai at his office in the Parliament. In her discussion with the Hungarian Prime Minister Ambassador Kounalakis expressed her commitment to work with him to strengthen and deepen the excellent relations between the United States and Hungary.
