Embassy Consular Section staff and representatives of the agencies answer questions duing the forum

On March 5, 2009, the Embassy organized a web forum on the Summer Work/Travel Program. Besides the Embassy’s Consular Section staff, representatives of nearly all the agencies working on the Work/Travel Program were present: Apex, Bron-Y-Aur, Camp Leaders, CCUSA, Explore USA and Student Work.

The Embassy has been working with these agencies for a long time, resulting in more and more students having a chance to spend their summer holidays in the U.S. earning some money, traveling and improving their English language skills. The popularity of the Summer Work/Travel Program can be gauged by looking at the increasing number of participants in the last few years. In 2006 there were 500 students in the program, increasing to 800 in 2007, and 1,200 in 2008. If the level of interest in the web forum is any indication, this year will most likely see a record number of Hungarian participants.
