On October 4, the Chargé d’Affaires, Jeffrey Levine joined forces with the Hungarian Bridge of Health Alliance to promote awareness of breast cancer, joining several thousand participants -- including a contingent from the U.S. Embassy -- at the annual Bridge Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness across Budapest’s historic Chain Bridge.

The Chargé’s participation contributed to a national campaign to promote breast cancer screening for women, the center of which is the Bridge Walk, a collaborative effort between Hungary's Ministry of Health, the Bridge of Health Alliance, and the private sector, such as General Electric and Pfizer. The Chargé joined Minister of Health Tamás Székely, Bridge of Health Alliance co-founder Éva Körtvélyes and other prominent Hungarian personalities in leading participants across the bridge. This was the 8th Bridge Walk since its inception in 2002 under the inspiration of then-U.S. Ambassador Nancy Brinker.
