Embassy Outreach to District 5 Neighbors

The U.S. Embassy in Budapest, which has been a resident of Szabadság Square in District 5 for over 70 years, continues to put great emphasis on being a good neighbor to the residents of Perczel Mór and Hold Streets.

Members of the Embassy, including Charge d’Affaires Jeffrey Levine, Management Counselor Paul Gilmer and General Services Officer James Dayringer met with neighbors on November 5 to discuss a pending Embassy construction project to improve security and further beautify Szabadság Square. Mr. Zoltán Cselovszki, the Chief Architect of District V also participated.

In a frank discussion, the residents shared with Embassy representatives their concerns regarding the effects of the Embassy and its special requirements on the neighborhood. The construction project is scheduled to begin in early 2010.
