U.S. Embassy, American and Hungarian High School Students Celebrate World Habitat Day

UN World Habitat Day is celebrated each October to draw attention to housing problems and to the importance of the right to a decent home.

This year, students from the American International School of Budapest and from Lakatos Menyhért Általános Iskola volunteered their time to work on a renovation project involving social rental units in Budapest’s eighth district. Jeff Lodinsky, Consular Chief, was patron of the event and joined the young adults and other volunteers for a day of painting, cleaning and renovating.
