Teaching Fundraising Techniques for Community Service Projects

On October 9 and 10, leaders of the Hungarian Alumni groups met in the Hungarian Pilis Mountains to learn more about fundraising for community service projects.

Sponsored by the Public Affairs Section of the Embassy, teams of alumni groups overnighted in a former Hungarian military camp northwest of Budapest. Cultural Attaché, John Balian, opened the event. The alumni participants enjoyed team building activities, discussed the latest developments in their respective organizations and were presented with fundraising and financial management techniques of exceptionally well-run model projects such as a bicycle club for youth, a camp for recuperating children, and a U.S.-Hungarian scholarship program.
