Ambassador Foley Stresses Women’s Empowerment to Pécs Youth
On October 30, 2008, Ambassador Foley spoke at a Procter & Gamble-organized conference at Pécs University focusing on women’s empowerment issues. In her remarks to an audience of 100 young men and women students, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of ensuring equal treatment and opportunities for women in the workforce. She noted that governments, businesses, and society must fully incorporate a diversity of experience, perspectives and knowledge if they wish to succeed in an increasingly global environment. In addition, Ambassador Foley highlighted the need for proactive reform in education policy legislation and social perceptions.
