Ambassador Foley Speaks out on the Need for Tolerance

Ambassador Foley joined British Ambassador Greg Dorey, European Member of Parliament Katalin Lévai and many others to kick-off the Roma Law Enforcement Campaign in Budapest on November 11, 2008. The event marked the beginning of a nationwide campaign to improve the public perception of the Roma community and create positive role models for Roma youth. The campaign will use billboards, posters, and pamphlets bearing images of Roma police officers and captions inspiring children to follow their dreams.

In her remarks, Ambassador Foley congratulated the campaign organizers for their efforts, noting that the campaign will remind everyone of the important contributions Roma people and organizations make in Hungary. She also condemned acts of violence and hatred directed at the Roma community.
