Daniel Pearl Commemoration Promotes Tolerance

On November 17, 2008, Ambassador Foley hosted a concert in cooperation with the Israeli Embassy to support the Daniel Pearl World Music Days program. In a well-received performance featuring a diversity of spiritual and secular music, the Israeli Alei Gefen Choir sang for an audience representing Hungarian minority and human rights organizations.

In her remarks, Ambassador Foley expressed the Embassy’s commitment to commemorate journalist Daniel Pearl’s memory by advocating both tolerance and freedom, while also emphasizing the value of promoting cross-cultural understanding through music and dialogue.
