Ambassador Foley Commemorates Jewish Victims of the 1956 Revolution

On November 20, 2008 Ambassador April Foley attended the commemoration ceremony for the Jewish victims of the 1956 revolution in the Dohány street Synagogue. The event was organized by the Confederation of the Jewish Communities in Hungary (MAZSIHISZ) and the Association of Freedom Fighters 1956.

Following remarks by Member of Parliament Imre Mécs and Rabbi Tamás Róna, Ambassador Foley, in keeping with an old Jewish tradition, placed a pebble at the victims’ memorial plaque.
