Embassy Commemorates Human Rights Day with Roma Documentary Film Makers

On December 10, Chargé d’Affaires Jeffrey Levine delivered remarks to note the 61st anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the Urania National Film Theater in Budapest.

In his remarks, Mr. Levine encouraged all to speak out against discrimination, prejudice and stereotypes stating that, “The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a beautiful promise. As President Obama said recently in Oslo, let us reach for the world that ought to be.”

The Romedia Foundation and Duna Television Hungary co-produce an award winning documentary series, Mundi Romani, depicting Roma life around the world.
