Ambassador Foley Keynote Speaker at the 16th Hungarian American Coalition Dinner in Washington, DC
On December 7, 2007, the Hungarian Ambassador to the U.S. Ferenc Somogyi and the President of the Hungarian American Coalition Max Teleki co-hosted the 16th annual Mikulás dinner of the Coalition and the Hungarian Embassy in Washington, DC.
Ambassador Somogyi emphasized that Hungarian-American relations are in excellent shape and stressed the importance of future cooperation in all possible fields. Ambassador Foley, as the keynote speaker addressed about a hundred invited guests. She provided a comprehensive review of the bilateral relationship, stressing the many shared values of freedom and democracy, unity in the global war on terror and the common commitment to NATO. She also discussed her personal support for the successful effort to locate the NATO center for strategic air freight transport to Pápa, Hungary.
