The Hungarian-American Enterprise Scholarship Fund (HAESF) Has Established a New Scholarship Program
HAESF is proud to announce the creation of a new scholarship program. This year, for the first time, the fund will be awarding scholarships for the pursuit of undergraduate university studies in the United States. With the support of the one-year University Academic Scholarship, the most promising Hungarian university students will have the opportunity to spend two semesters at Indiana University, Bloomington.
The scholarship provides full funding for university students towards the completion of one academic year at Indiana University, Bloomington. The applicant's home institution must pre-approve the courses to be taken in the United States. Consequently, upon returning to Hungary, the courses completed in the U.S. will automatically be counted towards the completion of the scholar's Hungarian diploma. Students currently in their third year are eligible to apply. The program is unique in the respect that in addition to enrollment in university courses, an educational advisor will prepare special extracurricular activities to facilitate the Hungarian scholars' integration. As a result, the scholarship recipients will have a rich and comprehensive experience that extends far beyond the classroom.
The introduction of the new scholarship program reflects HAESF's endeavor to provide support to the most promising Hungarians in virtually every phase of their academic and career paths. In addition to the new scholarship, applications are also being accepted for HAESF's three existing programs.
With the support of the Undergraduate Fellowship, final year (senior) university students and recent university graduates go to the United States for 6-12 month professional internships at prominent American companies and organizations. Accomplished professionals and leaders chosen for the Senior Leaders and Scholars Fellowship Program receive significant financial support for the realization of independent professional projects and research. Finally, the Graduate Scholarship, established last year, provides supplementary financial support to Hungarian university graduates for professional, post-graduate studies in the United States.
Applications for the Undergraduate Fellowship and Senior Leaders and Scholars Fellowship must be received by April 1, 2007. The application deadline for the University Academic Scholarship and Graduate Scholarship is April 15, 2007.
