Embassy Book Donation Helps Revitalize American Studies Department in Budapest

Among the Embassy's activities to mark International Education Week was a donation of 90 books for the American Studies library at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest.

Deputy Chief of Mission Jeffrey Levine spoke at the November 15, 2007 donation ceremony attended by the University Rector, Department professors, and 40 students.  He urged the students to learn about America not only from books but from a term of study on a U.S. campus.

Mr. Levine also invited the students to attend the Embassy's upcoming strategic speaker series including Robert Kagan (from Carnegie Endowment) and Janusz Bugajski (from the Center for Strategic and International Studies).
