Internet

Hungary has several local dial-up Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to choose from. Depending on the plan, monthly Internet fees start at about 15 USD a month. Euro ISDN service is available, but is more expensive than dial-up service. Analog dial-up service (maximum 56 kbps, monthly fee, connection time is shown in telephone bill), ISDN (maximum 64 kbps/channel, 2 channels, monthly fee, connection time is shown in telephone bill), ADSL (maximum 384/ 720/ 1536 kbps (download), monthly fee, available only in selected areas), and cable TV (maximum 320/ 512 kbps, monthly fee, available only in selected areas - cable TV and Internet via a cable box) services are becoming more commonplace through companies such as GTS Datanet and Axelero. Budapest has a number of Internet cafes where customers can use Internet and access e-mail.
