Human Resources Office - Vacancy Announcement

Guard, FP-BB*; FSN-3**

SALARY:

The Office of Human Resources (HR) is accepting applications from All Interested Applicants to fill a Guard position in the Office of Regional Security (RSO).

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

The incumbent controls access to compounds works flexible work hours including weekdays and holidays at changing work sites.  S/he screens visitors and vehicles, routinely checks grounds for bombs and intruders, recognizes potentially dangerous situations and notifies proper authorities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: All applicants should address each of the selection criterion detailed below by providing specific and comprehensive information in support of each item.

1. Education: A completion of secondary school is required. 

2. Experience: A minimum of one year of security experience is required. State security examination required.

3. Language: English Level II (Limited Knowledge) both written and spoken and Hungarian Level IV (Fluent) both written and spoken are required.

4. Knowledge: Knowledge of basic security procedures is required.

5. Skills & Abilities: Incumbent must be physically capable of being trained in defensive measures and must be able to exercise good judgment in handling emergency situations.

SELECTION PROCESS:

After the closing date specified in this announcement, if more than one Eligible Family Members (EFM) or U.S. Veterans are among the qualified applicants, only their applications will be forwarded to the Post Employment Committee. In case there is only one EFM or U.S. Veteran among the qualified candidates, only that application will be forwarded to the supervisor of the position for review.  EFMs and/or U.S. veterans who are among qualified candidates will be given employment preference.  Therefore, it is essential that a candidate address in his or her application how their qualifications meet the requirements as described above.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:

1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.

2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.

3. Eligible Family Members (EFM) who currently hold an FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their appointment.

THE CLOSING DATE FOR THIS POSITION:  Until filled.

DEFINITIONS:

1. Eligible Family Member (EFM):  U.S. citizen spouse or U.S. citizen child as referred to in 6 FAM 111.3, para R, (1) who is at least age 18, and who, in either case, is on the travel orders of a U.S. citizen Foreign or Civil Service employee or military service member permanently assigned to or stationed at a U.S. Foreign Service post or establishment abroad and under Chief of Mission authority.

2. Member of Household (MOH):  Non-U.S. citizen spouses, dependent children not on the employees travel orders, unmarried partners of the same and opposite sex, parents, other relatives or adult children declared as an MOH to the Chief of Mission in writing but who fall outside the Department's current legal and statutory definition of EFM.

3. Ordinarily Resident (OR): A citizen of the host country or a citizen of another country who has shifted the main residency focus to the host country (either permanently or temporarily) and would require work and/or residency permit to be employed in country.  Any Ordinarily Resident American will receive a salary that is no less than U.S. minimum wage.

4. Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): Typically NORs are U.S. citizen Eligible Family Members and family members of Foreign Service, Civil Service, and military personnel who are on travel orders and under the Chief of Mission authority, or other personnel having diplomatic privileges and immunities.
