The Office of Human Resources (HR) is accepting applications from All Interested Applicants to fill a Full Time / Part Time Chauffeur (MSG) position in the General Services Office (GSO).
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The employee serves as a full time or part time MSG driver. S/he operates a passenger motor vehicle in accordance with Marine Detachment Commander’s instructions to transport Marine Security Guards (MSGs) and official visitors within the city and surrounding area. Maintains the vehicle in clean and serviceable condition and performs minor maintenance of a preventive nature. Fills out trip tickets completely, accurately, and in a timely manner. S/he is required to work on a rotational shift basis to cover the Detachment’s needs. S/he will ensure that all occupants of a motor vehicle comply with USG seat belts requirements and all other applicable safety standards. S/he safeguards U.S. Government property and uses U.S. Government resources efficiently, which includes fuel-efficient operation of the Embassy motor vehicles. Performs other functions as requested by the Detachment Commander/Marines and the Motor Pool Supervisor. In case of an accident, notifies the Detachment Commander and the Motor Pool Supervisor immediately and fills in the appropriate report within 24 hours.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
NOTE: All applicants should address each of the selection criteria detailed below by providing specific and comprehensive information in support of each item.
1. Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
2. Experience: One year of professional driving experience as a Chauffeur is required.
3. Language: English Level III (Good Working Knowledge) and Hungarian Level IV (Fluent) are required.
4. Knowledge: Must be familiar with and obey traffic regulations.
5. Skills & Abilities: Must have a valid driver’s license (B, C and PAV II). A history of good, safe driving record, demonstrated driving skills, and ability to perform minor preventive maintenance skills are required.
SELECTION PROCESS:
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Eligible Family Members (EFM) who currently hold an FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their appointment.

DEFINITIONS:
1. Eligible Family Member (EFM): U.S. citizen spouse or U.S. citizen child as referred to in 6 FAM 111.3, para R, (1) who is at least age 18, and who, in either case, is on the travel orders of a U.S. citizen Foreign or Civil Service employee or military service member permanently assigned to or stationed at a U.S. Foreign Service post or establishment abroad and under Chief of Mission authority.
2. Member of Household (MOH): Non-U.S. citizen spouses, dependent children not on the employees travel orders, unmarried partners of the same and opposite sex, parents, other relatives or adult children declared as an MOH to the Chief of Mission in writing but who fall outside the Department’s current legal and statutory definition of EFM.
3. Ordinarily Resident (OR): A citizen of the host country or a citizen of another country who has shifted the main residency focus to the host country (either permanently or temporarily) and would require work and/or residency permit to be employed in country. Any Ordinarily Resident American will receive a salary that is no less than U.S. minimum wage.
4. Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): Typically NORs are U.S. citizen Eligible Family Members and family members of Foreign Service, Civil Service, and military personnel who are on travel orders and under the Chief of Mission authority, or other personnel having diplomatic privileges and immunities.
