U.S. Ambassador Eleni Tsakopoulos Kounalakis’ Statement of Condolence

I am deeply saddened to hear the news about the death of the brave soldier who had been in critical condition as a result of the August 23 attack on the Hungarian convoy in Afghanistan. My heart goes out to the family members of the fallen soldier. 

We are grateful to the Hungarian Government, the Hungarian military, and the Hungarian people for their contributions and their sacrifices in this vital effort.
