Social Organizations

For those interested in making contact with other Americans in Hungary, some possibilities are:

  • North American Women's Association (NAWA): Membership is open to women from North America (United States, Canada and Mexico) and women whose husbands hold North American passports. For more information, please contact NAWAJOINERS@hotmail.com.

  • International Women's Club Foundation (IWCF): The IWCF meets from 10am-12pm at the Marriott Hotel (Apáczai Csere János utca 4, Budapest. V). For more information contact the IWCF offices at 225-5197 (weekdays Sept-June from 10-noon) or E-mail: iwc@nextra.hu.

  • Professional Women's Association: Open to women of all nationalities. Meetings are normally held on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00pm at the Kempinski Hotel (Erzsébet tér 7-8, Budapest 1051) E-mail: pwa@nextra.hu.

  • Alcoholics Anonymus: Kertész utca 28, First floor, Családsegítő Központ, Tel.: 06-30-576-0977; László (Hungarian only): 251-0051, Ted: 06-30-576-0977. Meetings are held on Tuesday/Friday from 6:30 pm and on Sunday from 6:00 pm. Web site: www.anonimalkoholistak.hu.
